Overcome!

God has so been putting this on my heart for weeks now, and as usual I am just now getting it! I am been plagued recently with questions, with fear, with anxiety. I have carried the burden of sin, temptation, and evil in this world.

God has gently been reminding me that we don't earn His love, there is nothing we can do to earn more of His grace. His love is forever ... never ending ... everlasting. He has brought our lives out of darkness and into His glorious light!

Bad news has been circling, my heart has been broken, but God has continually giving me stories of redemption and restoration.

There are times in our lives when we feel burdened by our sin, and by the sin of this world, but we have one truth to hold on tightly to. God has overcome and by His blood we too will overcome! Oh the joy!

One phrase that has become my new mantra was mentioned Sunday at church. An off-hand comment, but one that struck my heart deeply. As a minister was praying he simply mentioned "God, you exchange our ashes for glory!" Instantly a weight was lifted. If there is one truth I have seen in my life is that beauty comes from ashes. As soon as he said "ashes" I knew God was talking to me...its like a little inside phrase we have! :)

It is a stunning concept, a incredible truth. Our God is in this forever! He isn't ever going to leave. He never walks away. His love for us is deep and constant. Through that love we are redeemed, and through that love we will overcome!
