chocolate, mountains, and cheese!

Our trip to Switzerland started late...technically early, but we never went to bed so it was still late to us. We had to leave the house at 12:15 to make our bus at 1:00 AM! So between packing and finishing homework, none of us were able to sleep before hand. SO we slept on the 2 hour bus ride...waiting in the airport for 3 or so hours...on the 2 hour plane ride...on the about 2 hour train and again when we reached our hostel. Kelly, Jackie, me and Flat Stanley (or Travis, I call him both!) on the plane to Geneve!

Jacob, Lauren, Kelly (hidden), and Ravanne on the train to Interlaken!

We actually ended up running into the other group heading to Interlaken to go skiing on the train and so we all made it together! We were very excited to be done traveling for the day! Here are all the girls: Jackie, Natalie, me, Malia, Ravanne, Lauren, and Kelly!

Just look at all these happy faces!

After we ate lunch (side note: Kelly and I shared a backpack of clothes, and one full of food! Over the course of the trip we ate an entire loaf of PB&J's) and separated from the other group, the six of us walked around Interlaken while we were waiting to check in to our hostel.

Jacob and Kelly by the river!

The Lazy Falken...our (cough) wonderful hostel! Just joking, it wasn't bad, but of course you always run into some sketchy people!

So when we got to our hostel all checked in, we explored for awhile and eventually found our beds before venturing out for dinner later!
These are some pictures of the view from our hostel's terrace! BEAUTIFUL!
So, first day was pretty boring, but we were thankful to make it safely with no setbacks! Foreshadowing: coming back to Oxford...NOT the same story!
Later you will get to hear all about our second day, full of paragliding, mountain viewing, and snow! :)
