London: day 2

So we woke up in London to a bright shining sun...something I have really come to appreciate! It was a great way to start the day!

First thing on the schedule was to head to Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guards! There were hundreds of people there! Kind of insane, so I didn't get any good pictures of the changing of the guards, or the palace, but here is proof I was there!

West Minster was next on the list! Although I didn't want to pay the 12 pounds to get in, so I just admired it from afar. Here is a picture of Wyatt, a friend of mine on the trip!

While Wyatt and Allison went into West Minster, Sydney, Grant, Kelly and I walked to the river and saw the London Eye! It was super neat!

We then found lunch, and went to a number of different places just around the city until dusk when we were headed to the London Bridge, but got sidetracked with this:

This is The Monument, built in memory of the huge fire that destroyed London back in the day (don't remember the year). It was 2 pounds for students to climb, so we thought it would be totally worth is to see London from that high!

Right we were! The sun was setting and the skyline was absolutely beautiful!
We all realized how out of shape we were, the 311 steps up and 311 steps down wore us out! Yet, it was very worth every step! :)
On to the bridge! We walked on The London Bridge, but it turns out it is just a normal looking bridge. The one that is always pictured isn't the London Bridge, it is some other one, of which I can't remember the name. So here I am standing on the London Bridge, with the other bridge behind me.

Dinner time! We were all very hungry from our climb/walking so we decided we would head to the Texas Embassy (Grant had been there before) and get some TexMex! We were beyond words, excited! First, though, we had to figure out the underground...thankfully I was with these very focused navigators:

We made it and ate some delicious, although not as good as authentic, TexMex! It was worth every penny, or should I say pence! :)

That was the grand finale of our London trip...we then headed to the train station and made it back to Oxford!
London = success!

Thanks for reading!
